Markos Tambakeras is Chairman of the Board of Xylem, Inc. (NYSE: XYL) and also Senior Managing Director of Madison Capital Partners (MCP), a Chicago Based Private Equity Firm. In addition he serves on the Board of Trustees of Loyola Marymount University since 2011 and is also a current member President's Club of Arizona State University (ASU). Mr. Tambakeras served as Chairman, President and CEO of Kennametal Inc (NYSE: KMT) from 1999 to 2006. Prior to joining Kennametal, he was with Honeywell, Inc. (NYSE:HON) for 19 years, serving in several senior management positions including President. He is the former Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Manufacturers Alliance/MAPI, which is the manufacturing industry’s leading executive development and business research organization, and a former board director of ITT Corporation and Parker Hannifin Corp (NYSE:PH), Newport Corporation (NYSE: NEWP), Saint Vincent College, the Allegheny Conference of Community Development, and the Pittsburgh Opera. He holds a BS in Industrial Chemistry from the University of Witwatersrand, Johannesburg, South Africa and a MBA from Loyola Marymount University in Los Angeles.
Mr. Tambakeras and his wife, Pamela, reside in Paradise Valley, AZ, and have a son and daughter.
